SECURITY CLEARANCE PROCESS

Learn more about the security clearance process.

Security Clearance Process

To complete the hiring process, you must obtain a security clearance from the federal government. Several factors, such as citizenship, personal conduct, drug use and integrity are considered before granting a security clearance.

The clearance process begins after a conditional offer of employment has been offered and accepted. This process involves scrutinizing your life history and overall fitness to ensure the protection of the nation's secrets.

During this process, we will evaluate your loyalty to the United States, strength of character, trustworthiness, honesty, reliability, discretion and soundness of judgment. Furthermore, we will ensure that you have no conflicting allegiances to other countries, are not prone to coercion and are willing and able to comply with regulations governing the use, handling and protection of sensitive information. In some cases, we may require you to take a polygraph exam to verify the accuracy of information you have provided during the clearance process.
